TOKYO (Sputnik) – The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) distributed the statement of the Korean People's Army that warned South Korea off using the psychological warfare facilities.
“Just, full-scale military operations will be launched to destroy the psychological warfare facilities against the North, if our demand to be ignored,” the statement said.
Seoul uses loudspeakers to distribute the propaganda messages across its borders with North Korea. These “psychological warfare” was stopped for about a decade. On August 10, it was renewed after two South Korean soldiers were wounded by landmines. Seoul blames Pyongyang for mining the demilitarized zone despite it is covered with mines from both sides.
Seoul and Pyongyang signed a ceasefire in the 1950-1953 Korean War, but the countries remain in a formal state of war.
