MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Saturday, a bomb attack hit Madinat as-Sadr, the mostly Shia district of Baghdad, killing at least 13 and injuring about 50 people
“The Takfiri Daesh [ISIL] terrorist group has claimed responsibility for a deadly car bomb attack that killed over a dozen people in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad,” Press TV said on its website.
The channel added that the ISIL said that it targeted on the Iraqi soldiers, policemen and pro-government militiamen.
Earlier on Thursday, the ISIL claimed responsibility for suicide car bombing that killed about 60 and injured about 200 people in Baghdad.
The ISIL is a radical Sunni group that has ceased vast areas in Syria and Iraq. It aims to establish an Islamic caliphate on the occupied territories. The radicals have become notorious for numerous terrorist attacks and their mass executions, stoning of women and the beheading of foreigners.
