BEIJING (Sputnik) — "Sodium cyanide can be fully collected at the site by late Monday afternoon," He Shushan told CCTV.
On Sunday, Shi Luze, the chief-of-staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), said that several hundred tons of highly toxic sodium cyanide had been stored at two locations near the site of the explosions.
On Wednesday, two massive blasts occurred in a warehouse in Tianjin, leaving over 110 people dead and more than 700 injured, according to media reports. The explosions and a resultant fire were caused by flammable goods stored at the warehouse.
Earlier in the day, the Port of Tianjin reportedly restored operations partially suspended after the incident.
