BERLIN (Sputnik) — Attacks on OSCE workers and vehicles, which have been on the rise in recent weeks, represent direct violations of the Minsk agreements, Steffen Seibert said at a briefing.
"The work of the OSCE in Ukraine takes place in increasingly complex conditions. At the same time, the OSCE plays a crucial role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis," Seibert said.
Earlier in August, seven OSCE armored vehicles were set on fire in Donetsk.
In February, Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine worked out a ceasefire deal in Minsk later signed by Kiev and the Donbass self-proclaimed republics. Under the deal, the OSCE has been made responsible for monitoring the situation in the country.
Both Kiev and the local militia continue to accuse each other of violating the Minsk ceasefire deal.
