Largest bank in the US announced that it would hire recently retired US Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno for a senior advisory position.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) JP Morgan, the largest bank in the United States, announced on Thursday it would be hiring recently retired US Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno for a senior advisory position.

"[Odierno’s] experience, vision and impressive track record of success when confronting overwhelming challenges will provide significant value to our leadership team, the firm and our clients across a wide range of issues," JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon said in a press release.

The retired four-star general will be brought on to JP Morgan to provide strategic advice to Dimon on issues including physical security and cybersecurity, country risk analysis, and international planning.

On Friday, General Odierno officially stepped down from his leadership position at the Pentagon after more than 37 years of military service. His new role at the US mega-bank will be effective on September 1.

JP Morgan is currently ranked among the largest 5 banks in the world by Forbes. The international financial services provider is reported to have assets valued at $2.4 trillion.
