Dissatisfaction with NATO’s actions has increased over the last few months, a survey showed.
The analysts of Prognosis Media decided to examine the messages of social network users with regard to the recent activities of NATO in general and the news about the start of a major military training of NATO airborne troops, in particular.
The study revealed that the actions of NATO, including those aimed at increasing tensions in relations with Russia, are being criticized by 68% of Germans, with 32% in support of NATO's actions, including its efforts to contain Russia.
Prognosis Media analyzed more than 74 thousand messages of social network users in 200 countries regarding NATO’s activities, including more than 4.4 thousand of German-language posts.
“NATO would have nothing here in Europe to oppose Russia. The United States knows it, too. Europe will be catapulted into a war, while Uncle Sam would watch it all with relish on CNN,” wrote one of the Facebook users.
“[…] Because the Americans want to use us as cannon fodder against Russia; what is the Bundeswehr searching for in the civil war in Ukraine, what does NATO want there?” echoed another.
Thus, the study revealed that Germans have started to have a more negative stance towards NATO than a few months ago.
