MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier this month, two South Korean soldiers were injured by a mine explosion on the demilitarized zone. Seoul blamed Pyongyang for the incident. South Korea then resumed broadcasting of military propaganda over the border, a practice it gave up a decade ago.
Seoul will "take corresponding measures and continue the loudspeaker broadcasts" unless Pyongyang offers an apology and promises to not stage any provocations in the future, Park said in a meeting with her top aides, as quoted by the Yonhap news agency.
The conflicting neighbors held the first round of high-level talks to reduce tensions that escalated earlier this week on Saturday. The negotiations continued Sunday.
South and North Korea are still formally at war, as no peace treaty was ever signed after the Korean War of 1950-1953.
