MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Mark Costello was stabbed to death inside an Oklahoma City restaurant late Sunday after an altercation with his son, the suspected assailant.
A Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise daily correspondent reported that city police had detained Costello's son, Christian, 26, on a charge of first degree murder.
A local NBC affiliate KFOR cites witnesses as saying the assailant stabbed Costello in the head and neck before another witness rammed the suspect with his vehicle, knocking him to the ground.
Several people then tackled the attacker and kicked the knife away.
Costello’s colleagues have reached out to the family following the labor commissioner’s death, posting on social media networks and offering their support.
