Russia Has 'Serious Influence' as Mediator in Israel-Palestine Conflict
MOSCOW (Sputnik), Yulia Shamporova — According to the envoy, Palestine could import "a lot of things" from Russia — "from electrical stations to heavy equipment, timber, paper, petrochemicals."

At the same time, Palestine is in a good position to supply pharmaceutical products, IT and financial services, among other things, to Russia.

"We are thinking now to invite a big delegation from Palestine [to Russia] with the participation of the minister of finance, the minister of energy to come and discuss our needs," the diplomat said, adding that Russia remains "one of the priority partners for Palestine."

Palestinians seek the recognition of their independent state on territories partially occupied by Israel after the 1967 Six-Day War, including the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The State of Palestine is recognized by 135 of the 193 UN member states, including Russia.
