ROSTOV-ON-DON (Sputnik) — A second defendant, Alexander Kolchenko, was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.

According to the investigators’ version, Oleh Sentsov set up a terrorist group in Crimea, believed to be a subdivision of Ukraine's Right Sector nationalist party.

In April-May, 2014, the activists of the group carried out explosions with home-made devices in the Crimean city of Simferopol near the Eternal Flame memorial and the Lenin monument. They also set the offices of the Russian Community of Crimea public organization and the United Russia party local branch on fire, the investigative committee stated.

The Right Sector paramilitary group played a major role in the violent clashes with police that led to the February 2014 government overthrow in Ukraine.

The group was outlawed in Russia in January 2015.
