MOSCOW(Sputnik) — A deal on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Egypt could be signed during Wednesday's meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah Sisi in Moscow, a source close to the negotiations said.
"It is possible," the source said, asked whether the deal could be signed Wednesday.
The two countries signed a deal on Russian nuclear energy company Rosatom's participation in the construction of Egypt's first nuclear power plant in February.
In June, Rosatom submitted a business proposal on the construction of the Egyptian plant to Sisi.
Earlier in August, Ibrahim Asiri, the adviser to Egypt's energy minister, said Cairo and Moscow may sign an agreement to build two nuclear power units in Egypt in August, during Sisi's visit to Russia.
