SIMFEROPOL (Sputnik) — British journalist Graham Phillips said Wednesday that he was disappointed in the BBC due to its biased reporting on events in Crimea.

"I have a very bad attitude towards journalists who work on principles of propaganda. I, with Crimea, noticed how our BBC twists information and tells lies. I was disappointed in the BBC, which I respected as a boy and as a man," Phillips told Crimea's Rossiya Segodnya radio station.

He also added that he had no desire to communicate with Western journalists who cannot remain neutral when covering a story.

"I was in Crimea and filmed material before the referendum and at the referendum itself. I decided that this is a historic moment which must be understood objectively," the journalist said.

The March referendum was carried by a staggering 96-percent vote in favor of Crimea joining Russia.

Kiev, as well as the West, believe the reunification to be an illegal annexation.
