The standoff has reportedly ended with the suspect in police custody.
According to local authorities, a suspected shooter had barricaded himself inside a mini-mart. Despite earlier reports, no hostages were held inside.

The incident began when the suspect slammed his car into the front of a convenience store. Two individuals were stabbed, and an officer who responded to the scene was then shot. Law enforcement are attempting to coax the suspect out of the convenience store, where he has barricaded himself inside a back office, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
According to local WAFB, deputies entered the mini-mart and threw tear gas into the premises. Sheriff Guidroz also said that police summoned the suspect's brother to the scene to assist in negotiations.

No deaths have been reported at this time. The wounded officer was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
