BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The European Commission would like to offer Ukraine a liberalization of the visa regime by the end of 2015, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said Thursday.
"The European Commission intends to offer visa liberalization by the end of the year. This decision should be taken by EU countries based on the European Commission's proposals, and I will do everything to make the Commission's position as positive as possible," Juncker told reporters at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
The EC president also said that Poroshenko has assured him of Kiev's progress in the implementation of reforms, which will enable the European Commission to allocate the last two tranches of financial assistance to Ukraine.
