MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Soyuz TMA-16M was redocked from the ISS Poisk module to the Zvezda service module, part of the Russian Orbital Segment of the ISS, the Mission Control’s spokesperson told RIA Novosti.
The maneuver was performed by Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Mikhail Kornienko along with NASA’s Scott Kelly.
The relocation allows for the arrival of the Soyuz TMA-18M crew capsule to the Poisk module on September 2, bringing Expedition 45/46 crew to the ISS.
The ISS program is a joint project among five participating space agencies: the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Russia’s Roscosmos, the European Space Agency (ESA), Japan’s Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).
