ST.PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — The project has been estimated at $34.8 million, according to the regional government’s press service.
The St. Petersburg Investment Construction Projects Fund has announced a tender for the project’s general contractor. A state examination of the project has been completed.
The Leningrad Region authorities and the IBRD have started working on a multipurpose theater and exhibition center and interactive exhibition space of the Rozhdestveno Estate Museum. The project will cost $523,300. Sound equipment has been delivered to the site, and furniture for the theater and exhibition center, as well as for the entrance, has been ordered. Lighting and exhibition equipment will be purchased later.
The project provides for assembling special equipment in a double-height hall and installing stands, furniture and technical equipment in a temporary display room for interactive sessions with children and adults.
Acting Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko said after visiting the estate that the building was in bad need of renovation.
The park surrounding the mansion, the central alley of which is lined with 150-year-old lime trees and oaks, sprawls down to the Grezna River canyon, with picturesque sandstone cliffs, brooks streaming out of the rock, and a complex of caves.
