MOSCOW (Sputnik) — North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent condolences on Sunday to the family of the late South Korean religious leader Moon Sun-myung, marking the third anniversary of his death, according to the state news agency.
Kim expressed deep sorrow and urged Moon’s bereaved wife Han Hak Ja, who continues to lead the Unification Church after the death of her spouse, to carry on with Moon’s cause.
Moon was born in 1920 on the territory of unified Korea, at the time a Japanese colony. He founded the Church of Unification in 1954. The Church is well-known for mass wedding ceremonies.
