MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Syria has been in the state of a civil war since the 2011 political crisis. Government forces have been fighting on multiple fronts against opposition forces and numerous extremist militant groups, including the Islamic State and the Nusra Front.
"We discussed the results of the Moscow-1 and Moscow-2 meetings. We noted that they fulfilled their function, revived the Geneva process. Everyone is currently talking about a third Geneva conference. The most important thing now is not to repeat old mistakes," Jamil told reporters.
"The [UN] Security Council gave them a deadline until November 15 to complete their work. Therefore, they are just about to begin their work, in the middle of September. They only have two months to complete it," he said.
