KIEV (Sputnik) — Both sides are adhering to the ceasefire in Ukraine's troubled Donbass region, a spokeswoman for Kiev negotiator and former President Leonid Kuchma said Tuesday, as the Trilateral Contact Group started its video conference.
The Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, which comprises representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), was set up in 2014 in a bid to promote a direct dialogue between Ukraine’s conflicting parties.
"As of 11:00 a.m. [8:00 a.m. GMT] on September 1, 2015, all sides are fully complying with the ceasefire regime. This information was confirmed by reports from officers of the joint center for control and coordination," Darya Olifer told RIA Novosti.
Kiev authorities and self-proclaimed Donbass republics agreed to a ceasefire under the Minsk deal reached in February. However, both sides have since accused each other of violating the truce.
