MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In August, Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic announced that Belgrade expected to reach an agreement with Russia on the purchase of two Mi-17 and Mi-171 helicopters for the Serbian Army.
The Mi-17 and Mi-171 helicopters were designed for the transportation of personnel and cargo. The helicopters come from the Mi-8/Mi-17 family of helicopters that, according to the company, are among the world's most popular Russian-made helicopters.
"Serbia is planning to buy two Mi-17 helicopters from Russia soon. The number of helicopters may be increased in the next few years," Kozlov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
