MOSCOW (Sputnik) — China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) has signed deals with two Rosneft-Statoil joint ventures, Magadanmorneftegaz and Lisyanskmorneftegaz, for the drilling of two exploration wells in 2016, Rosneft said Wednesday.
The wells will be drilled in the Magadan-1 and Lisyansky blocks of the Sea of Okhotsk.
Russia's Rosneft and Norway's Statoil signed a cooperation agreement that includes joint onshore and offshore projects in 2012.
Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin said, as quoted in the company's press release on Wednesday, that the agreements with COSL open up new prospects for further cooperation between leaders of the oil and gas industry in Russia, Norway and China in the exploration of oil and gas resources.
