Hasta la Vista, Don: Mexicans Can Now Scoff at Trump in Video Game

Mexican video game developers have created a new parody video game to let players throw shoes and bottles at a cartoon likeness of Donald Trump, the US Republican candidate, who infuriated many Mexicans and Mexican-Americans alike when he quipped that the country was sending its rapists and criminals over the border.

In the game, Trumpéalo, which was hammered out by the KaraOculta developers, players are allowed to follow Trump around and use a whole array of items to prevent him from leaving the stage.

A player, who can dress Trump up in his campaign suit, a chicken outfit, or a mariachi outfit, needs to concentrate on throwing soccer balls and shoes at Trump because the more items the player throws, the longer Trump stays in the game and the more points the player earns.

The game has thus far available in a Beta (test) version and is due to be released in its finished form in two to three weeks; it is expected to be available both for Android and iOS.

Meanwhile, KaraOkulta's chief executive Jorge Suarez has been quoted by Mexican media as saying that ordinary people are welcome to help developers expand the game with their ideas.

He added that many Mexicans are already enjoying Trumpéalo, which is a play on the Spanish word "golpear", meaning "to beat up".

"It turns out people have loved [the game]," Suarez said, adding that Trump's controversial statements about Mexico should prompt people to find the humor in things.

Earlier this year, Trump launched his presidential campaign with a verbal attack on Mexican immigrants, who he alleged were all drug dealers, criminals and rapists.
