Two armed attacks happened in the country on Friday, in the Tajik capital Dushanbe and in the city of Vahdat.
The attacks resulted in the deaths of eight policemen and nine armed attackers, according to media reports.
Previously The Tajik Interior Ministry has accused Nazarzoda of being behind the attacks.
The government planned several attacks on police stations aiming to accuse and prosecute several former field commanders who are members of the opposition, Nazarzoda's statement said, as cited by the media.
In the statement, Nazarzoda explained the government's decision by the fact that some of the opposition members, including himself, refused to sign a bill on the liquidation of the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan.
The attacks that happened Friday resulted in the deaths of over 30 policemen and at least 9 armed attackers.
The Tajik interior ministry has accused Nazarzoda of being behind the attacks.
