MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian authorities are keeping a close eye on the situation in neighboring Moldova where protests are continuing, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
“Well, of course. Everyone is carefully observing what is happening and how the situation is developing in Moldova,” Peskov told journalists in response to whether Russian President Vladimir Putin is aware of the events.
On Sunday, thousands of protesters rallied against Moldova’s government at two separate demonstrations in the capital of Chisinau.
