Islamic State jihadist group terrorists could be entering Germany by misrepresenting themselves as refugees from the Middle East and North Africa, Gerhard Schindler, the head of Germany’s BND intelligence agency, said Monday.

BERLIN (Sputnik) — According to Schindler, the main terrorist threat to Germany, however, comes from German citizens returning to the country after fighting alongside ISIL abroad.

“There are no concrete evidences that there are terrorists among the refugees from the Middle East and Africa. However, one cannot completely exclude that terrorists do not use existing smuggling organizations [for such purposes],” Schindler said in an interview with the German tabloid BILD.
