MINSK (Sputnik) — The source added that Kiev's envoy at the talks, former Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma, was leaving Minsk shortly.
"The Contact Group failed today to initial the agreement on the withdrawal of weaponry under 100-mm caliber and tanks," the source said following the talks.
The Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, which comprises representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), was set up in 2014 in a bid to promote a direct dialogue between the conflicting parties.
The extended format of Contact Group talks includes envoys from self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics in eastern Ukraine.
