NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – Local media reported that two Nepali women were found in the unnamed diplomat’s residence in the city Gurgaon near New Delhi late on Monday. The reports alleged that the two domestic workers have been raped.
The Indian ministry said it had received a detailed report of the allegations from Gurgaon Police Chief Navdeep Singh Virk.
The measure was taken because the suspected first secretary of the Saudi Embassy in New Delhi has diplomatic immunity and therefore does not fall under Indian jurisdiction.
Local media cited the Saudi Embassy dismissing the accusations and saying it would wait for New Delhi to clarify the matter via diplomatic channels.
