Giancarlo Thomae took his kayak out to the pacific ocean off the coast of California and came across these massive creatures as they breach the surface of the ocean. It's hard not to be stunned, or even frightened, by the sheer size of the whales, but if anything, Giancarlo seems thrilled to see them.
"Here are about ten 40-ton animals, 50 feet long, diving within about two feet away from my Kayak," he says in the video. And they're "barely leaving a ripple!" he adds, noting the gracefulness of the massive creatures.
