A cargo ship carrying 500 tons of general items and its captain with 13 crew members has gone missing on Saturday in the South China Sea, the Malaysian newspaper New Strait Times reported.
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency said the vessel registered as San Lian set sail from the Malaysian port of Kuching on September 2 and was expected to arrive in Limbang on September 5.
"However, the vessel didn’t reach Limbang as scheduled and the owner failed to contact his crew," MMEA Chief Admiral Ismaili Bujang Pit was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
