"Fortunately, Germany wasn’t directly involved in the wars in Iraq and Libya, unlike the US, Britain, France and others. But has it gone better? Gaddafi was bad. But has the situation changed?" the politician added.
According to Gysi, Germany is the third-largest arms exporter in the world and it "makes money on each war."
Meanwhile, Berlin supplies weapons to regimes "like in Saudi Arabia and Qatar," he added.
Gysi also commented on EU refugee quotas which are strongly opposed by the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Latvia and Lithuania: "If those countries refuse to accept refugees and stop funding the refugee policy Brussels would cut its financial support for them."
"Maybe, we would have to remind them the idea of the Sermon on the Mount," Gysi said urging German Chancellor Angela Merkel to adopt a harsher stance on the issue toward Warsaw.
The politician called for cooperation with Russia arguing that "there can be no peace in Europe without or against Russia."
He also said that the policy of sanctions against Russia undermines the principles of the state.
"Obama demanded from Germany and the EU to impose economic sanctions against Russia. The request was fulfilled, as usual. They achieved their goals, and we’re seeing economic losses," Gysi claimed.
He also demanded from Merkel to examine the issue of Russian weapons supplies to Syria and make a report on it.
