"We would like to warn our western partners from repeating the mistakes committed by them earlier, which actually led to the mass exodus of peoples from the Middle East and North Africa to Europe," ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharava said at a press conference.

Moscow hopes European countries will hastily develop a joint approach to the refugee crisis, she noted.

"Our country is interested in European states promptly developing a unified approach to this issue, complying with international obligations toward refugees," Zakharava said.
