KIEV (Sputnik) — The Ukrainian Security Council said Friday law enforcement bodies have prevented assassination of senior police officials, politicians and businessmen in Kiev and Kharkiv.
"Police and security forces have stopped activities of a criminal group, which planned assassinations of high-ranking police officials, a people's deputy, volunteers and businessmen," the council said in a statement.
"One of the organizers — commander of the Slobozhanshchina battalion — was arrested on Friday in Kharkiv," the statement said.
