MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A military training aircraft L-39 Albatros has crashed during an air show in the eastern US state of Tennessee, leaving its pilot dead, local media has reported.
The incident took place at around 16:30 local time on Saturday (21:30 GMT). Pilot Jay Gordon, who was the only man on board of the plane, has died.
According to witnesses, the pilot made the plane go into a nosedive to perform aerobatics when the aircraft crashed. An investigation of causes of the incident is underway.
L-39 Albatros is a fixed-wing single-engine aircraft designed for initial piloting training in various weather conditions.
