WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump is now running neck-and-neck with his main rival, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, a new poll by Washington Post-ABC News revealed Sunday.
While 46 percent of those polled said they plan to support Clinton in the upcoming election, 43 percent said they would pick Trump.
Trump has recently demonstrated an improved performance against Clinton, as previously the difference between the two candidates was 6 points or even more significant, according to various polls.
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 8, 2016.
Voters will choose members of the US Electoral College, who will then vote on who should become the next president and the vice president of the United States.
