Emergency Warnings Issued in Japan as Heavy Rains Continue
Seven people died in three prefectures, namely Ibaraki, Tochigi and Miyagi. Some 42 people were injured in 10 prefectures hit by torrential rains over the last week.

Earlier in the week, emergency warnings for heavy rainfall were issued for Miyagi, Tochigi and Ibaraki prefectures as the Etau storm continued to threaten the country with landslides and flooding.

Etau was declared post-tropical on Wednesday, however the storm continued to bring heavy rain in Japan on Thursday.
