WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The campus of the Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, is on lockdown after reports of an active shooter, the university said in a Twitter message on Monday.
“An active shooter has been spotted on campus near Jobe Hall,” the message read. “Please take immediate lock down action.”

"Delta State University has confirmed one fatality," the tweet read. "Campus remains under lockdown."
The Mississippi Highway Patrol, Cleveland police and the Bolivar Sheriff's Department are working on the site of the incident.
The University's administration advised students to stay inside and keep back from windows.
As of spring 2015, Delta State University has some 3,500 students.
