WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Serbia has made significant progress in advancing the cause of peace and reconciliation in the Balkans, the White House announced in a release following the meeting between Vice President Joe Biden and Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
“The Vice President [Joe Biden] noted the strategic significance of Serbia’s efforts to promote regional reconciliation in the Balkans, including its advancement of the EU-facilitated dialogue with Kosovo,” the release read on Tuesday.
Biden and Vucic consulted about Serbia’s integration in the European Union, according to the White House.
The White House also noted that the two leaders discussed “Serbia’s implementation of needed economic reforms, and the importance of creating a positive business climate to attract future US investment in Serbia,” it added.
Biden and Vucic closed out the meeting to talk about energy security and rule of law cases.
