WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama said on Wednesday he was confident that his administration could get the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) completed until the end of 2015, but would still need to get the agreement through Congress.
"I am confident that we can get it [the TPP] done and I believe that we can get it done this year," Obama said during a speech to an association of CEOs from top US companies.
Obama noted that the TPP would still need to be passed through Congress, and that the administration should "not assume" that trade promotion authorization would "automatically" be able to get the "TPP done."
