Abdullah, Lisa’s 29-year old boyfriend, was arrested the next day. According to a prosecutor, the couple wanted to get married, but Lisa’s mother was against it, so the two plotted to kill her, Danish newspaper Ekstrabladet reported.
Abdullah initially pleaded guilty, but then said he was innocent. Prosecutors, however, said there was evidence against him, such as his fingerprints in the house and his shirt had the traces of the murdered woman’s blood, Ekstrabladet said.
Borch met Abdullah near a refugee camp, where he was living after coming to Denmark from Iraq. Before Abdullah, Borch used to date an unknown man from Syria, who was an ISIL follower. The two broke up when the man decided to move to Sweden, but the girl kept up her interest in ISIL, Daily Mail said.
Before killing her mother, Borch became radicalized and spent hours watching ISIL videos. The girl dreamt about joining and fighting on the side of ISIL in the Middle East.
