The two fishermen were on their small speedboat near the San Diego Bay when they noticed the marine mammals swimming underneath their boat. As soon as they realized it was a pod of orca whales, they immediately took off.
The video, captured by one of the fishermen, shows the orcas speeding behind them, almost as if in a chase, diving above the water dangerously close to the boat. According to the clip's description, the pod consisted of roughly 30 whales. Both men managed to make it safely back to land.
Despite being known as killer whales, orcas rarely attack humans. We wonder whether fact that was at all comforting to these guys!
