"The Islamic Republic’s plan for ending the conflict in Syria will be implemented after consultations with Russian officials a few days from now," Iran’s news agency FARS quoted Hossein Amir-Abdollahian as saying.
The Iranian roadmap envisages a set of measures such as an immediate cessation of hostilities, formation of a unity government, constitutional amendments and internationally-monitored elections.
According to France Presse, on August 12 Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif submitted the draft for consideration by Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Assad hailed the plan as a "constructive political initiative on the part of Iran."
