SANAA (Sputnik) – According to the source, the target of the attack was the home of the acting Yemeni air force commander, Ibrahim Shami. The Al Masirah channel operator was reportedly killed in the third airstrike on the target, while the 25-year-old man was filming footage of the building remains.
Al Masirah channel is known as an information wing of the Shiite movement Ansar Allah.
Ansar Allah rebels, or the Houthis, took control of large swathes of Yemen, including Sanaa, in early 2015. Their advance prompted President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to flee the country and appeal to the Arab League for military assistance.
An Saudi-led coalition has been bombing positions held by the Houthis and other anti-government forces since March. More than 1,600 have died in the airstrike campaign, according to UN data.
