Carter Invites Israeli Defense Minister Yaalon to Visit Pentagon in October

US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter has invited Israel’s Minister of Defense Moshe Yaalon to visit the Pentagon in October, the Defense Department said in a Twitter message on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The invitation came following news that US President Barack Obama will host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on November 9.

"Pentagon Press Secretary [Peter Cook] says Secretary of Defense [Ashton Carter] has invited Israeli MOD [Minister of Defense] bogie_yaalon to visit Pentagon in late October," the tweet read. "[Carter] looking forward to visit."

On Wednesday, the White House announced the two leaders will discuss security-related issues including the implementation of the Iran nuclear agreement.
