WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A major reason for the unexpected mass defection was the flood of reports revealing Clinton’s use of a private e-mail account and server contrary to established regulations during her four years as secretary of state, the report explained.
"[Analysts] have noted the rather alarming collapse Hillary Clinton has seen with one of the main cohorts of her 2016 coalition: women," Townhall.com noted on Friday. "The former first lady has dropped an astonishing 29 points with Democratic women since July, falling from 71 percent to 42 percent."
"One of the main reasons why this group is running away from the candidate who could possibly make history by becoming the first female president of the United States is the e-mail server," the report said. "Women… don’t believe Clinton is telling the truth and that she did ‘something wrong’."
Among all female voters, 51 percent in a Fox News poll said Clinton "knowingly lied" about her private server, while 51 percent of women in CNN’s August survey said Clinton did something wrong when she decided to control her e-mail through her own server, Town Hall observed.
Town Hall predicted Clinton faced defeat in the Iowa caucuses on February 1 as her support in the state has dropped by a third since May.
