MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the go-ahead for a contract that will green-light the establishment of a Russian air base in Belarus.
A corresponding document was released on Saturday on the official internet-portal for legal information.
"To accept the proposal of the Russian government to sign the agreement on the Russian air base in Belarus between Russia and Belarus," the decree read.
Russia’s Defense and Foreign ministries have been authorized by the president to conduct talks with Minsk on the issue, according to the decree.
