Crimea's General Prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya has been nominated for the Peacemaker prize curated by the Moscow-based Peacemaker Worldwide Alliance foundation, Crimea Inform news agency reported.
The ceremony is to take place in Crimea on October 5 during the organization's Peace Forum. Other nominees who have confirmed their presence include Czech singer Karel Gott, former RFE/RL journalist Andrei Babitski and British-Russian television presenter John Warren, according to the foundation's public relations director Olga Vais.
"The initiative [to nominate Poklonskaya] came from the Peace Forum's organizers and we made an application. I believe there are many documents and speeches by Natalia [Poklonskaya] which expressively show that she is for peace in Crimea," Crimea's culture minister Arina Novoselskaya told Kryminform.
The forum is organized by the Crimean culture ministry together with the Peacemaker Worldwide Alliance foundation.
