MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The newly-elected Greek government headed by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was sworn in Wednesday in a ceremony at the presidential palace in the presence of President Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
On Monday, reelected Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras swore an oath of office in Athens after his left-wing Syriza party won snap parliamentary elections in Greece, taking over 35 percent of the vote.
Ministers taking the oath pledged to abide by the Greek constitution and its laws and to serve the interests of the Greek people.
The new office comprises 46 lawmakers, with several former ministers maintaining their posts.
Nikos Kotzias will serve as foreign minister, Panos Kammenos will keep his post of defense minister, and Euclid Tsakalotos will head the Finance Ministry.
