Normally, the "Hello" guide is oriented either towards little kids or those with severe mental disabilities, but clearly not intended for adults, whatever the case may be.
But no, the French company thought they had to help refugees by publishing a book that contained only pictures with no words. Remember, refugees can't read, the publisher might have thought.
For example, there is a page that teaches refugees about numbers. Isn't it a little ridiculous considering that it was the ancient Arabs who introduced modern numbers to Europeans? Oops.
Another picture shows internal organs in the human body. Wait, what? So the French wanted to "educate" Middle Eastern refugees about the human body, but they clearly forgot that Arab physicians and scholars laid the basis for medical practice in Europe. Oops again.
There are also pictures that explain what bathrooms and show that one can drink a beer, but not red wine. Oh, and of course, those refugees have no idea what a condom is or what feminine hygiene products are, that's why the helpful publishers came up with the book.
