It's called "buffer riding," and Sydney police are growing increasingly concerned that it might soon become a trend, especially since one of the teenagers shown in the footage appears to be holding up a video camera.
The two teenagers were caught on CCTV footage standing on the rear of the train as it traveled from Martin Place to Kings Cross station. The two were able to evade authorities when they disappeared in the crowd of people exiting the Kings Cross Station.
"Buffer riding" has prompted authorities to launch a new initiative under the name "Operation Damage," aimed at targeting people engaging in dangerous behavior in Sydney's transit system.
