NOVO-OGARYOVO (Sputnik) – Russia and the European Commission have signed the so-called winter package gas deal for Ukraine, and the ball is now in Kiev's court, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Wednesday.

"Now, as they say, the ball is in Ukraine's court, the protocol has been signed by us and the EC," Novak told reporters.
